The Humboldt Middle School band program offers classes for two groups of students:

Concert Band is made up of second and third year musicians, typically in the 7th and 8th grades.  These students perform at concerts in December and in the spring, as well as performances at home athletic events and local parades.

Beginning Band is for students entering their first year of band.  These students are typically in the 6th grade, but this class is also open to those in the 7th and 8th grades who wish to join the band.  These students learn the basics of music theory and begin the foundations of playing an instrument in the band.  The beginning band can be heard at the concerts in December and in the spring.

We are currently recruiting 5th - 7th grade students for beginning band next year.  If you are interested or know someone who is interested, we will have a sign-up night April 15 from 3-6 p.m. in the high school band room. Students may only sign-up if they have a parent present.  If you have any questions, or are interested but will not be able to make it to the sign-up night, please contact Mrs. Parson by email or at the middle school band room: 784-6855.
