Speech and Language Therapy

Diagnosis and Assessment of Communicative Disorders

Speech/Language Impairment  are determined through the demonstration of impairments in the areas of language, articulation, voice and fluency.  (Articulation or phonological process), fluency  (stuttering), or voice (i.e., chronic hoarseness).  Language Impairments include problems with understanding a message from a speaker (receptive language), verbally relating information to a listener (expressive language), and organizing spoken language in a meaningful way (auditory perception).

The ability to communicate our needs and wants  is a crucial part of learning throughout our lives.  The sooner we identify and diagnose speech disorders the better!!!
