This semester we will study vocabulary (Sadler-Oxford), genres (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, etc.), and figurative language, word skills, and various projects.

Our focus will also concern skills pertaining to mandated state standards that will be addressed on the TCAP test.

The library will be an important resource for us as well. Please encourage your child to read nightly from the library book that he or she selected. Check and make sure that they are checking out books and reading them. Also, students need to study vocabulary from the vocabulary book each night. (definitions)
