Humboldt Penguin

Believe it or not, but there is actually a Humboldt Penguin. It is an endangered specie that lives on the coast of Chile and Peru. Chile and Peru are on the west coast of South America.

The Saint Louis Zoo in Missouri actually has Humboldt Penguins. They have a Parents Program where people can "adopt" an animal. When you adopt an animal, your donation goes towards the animal's care and daily feeding. So...I adopted a Humboldt Penguin. With the adoption, I received a fact sheet on the animal, a picture, a Certificate of Adoption, a sticker, and an iron-on transfer for a t-shirt. If you go to the St. Louis Zoo, you can look for the Zoo Parents Kiosk at the zoo and look for "Mrs. Plunkett's Penguins". Class Notes & Help Wanted

We would love for you to come and help out at the school. If you have time, we could use help in the library and in individual classrooms reading to students. We go to the library on Monday from 9:05-9:50.
I know I could always use help in my room with small groups. You could read with them or help them with a game that helps with the skills I am teaching!
